Jalandhar, September 16, 2017: In a big bonanza for the residents of the city, MLA Mr. Sushil Kumar Rinku and Deputy Commissioner Jalandhar Mr. Varinder Kumar Sharma today announced to complete the work of Jalandhar-Kapurthala road, which was hanging in fire from last three years, before the festival
of Deepawali.
Mr. Sushil Kumar Rinku and Deputy Commissioner who jointly got kicked off the work for construction of road on this Jalandhar-Kapurthala road this afternoon said that it was a ‘Red Letter’ day for the people of the city as this project once completed would facilitate the people in a big way. They said that completing this project was the top priority of the state government as it would immensely benefit the people commuting from the city towards royal city Kapurthala besides the holy cities of Sultanpur Lodhi, Khadoor Sahib, Goindwal Sahib and others. They said that once completed the project would also give much
needed trade and industry in this area.
Mr. Sushil Kumar Rinku categorically said that the starting of work on road reflects the seriousness of the state government to fulfill the promises made with people. He reminded the people that last year when
people had staged a protest for completion of this road the Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh, who at that time was heading the party, had specially joined the people and assured them that this
project would be completed, if the party was voted to power. The MLA said that within six months the Chief Minister has fulfilled his promise to facilitate the people.
Mr. Rinku also lauded the Deputy Commissioner for taking keen interest in the completion of this project. He said that this project has reached to its logical conclusion due to strenuous efforts made by the Mr. Sharma.
Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner directed the officers to ensure best quality of work for the construction of this road. He said that the work of shifting the poles was also going and the entire work would be
completed before the festival of lights. Mr. Sharma also asked the officers to ensure that beautiful plants were planted at the central verge of the road to give a more beautiful look to it.
