Jalandhar, November 14, 2017: As per the schedule of Election Commission of India for special summary revision of Photo electoral roll for Lok Sabha/ Vidhan Sabha assembly segments for the left out eligible voters, the Booth Level Officers (BLOs) would start door to door survey from today (November 15).
Divulging the details Deputy Commissioner Jalandhar Mr. Varinder Kumar Sharma said that Booth Level Officers would go door to door from November 15 -30 during a special drive to collect information of the eligible voters in format I to VIII regarding enrolled voters, NRI voters and information regarding the youngsters who would be attaining the age of 18 years as on January 1, 2018. Exhorting the people to cooperate with the Booth Level Officer by giving them relevant information, Mr. Sharma said that it would help in strengthening the
democratic set up in the country.
The Deputy Commissioner further said that Booth level Officer would pronounce the relevant part of electoral roll on November 18, 2017(Saturday) and November 25, 2017 (Saturday) at the polling station. He asked the voters to be cautious regarding double registration in the electoral roll as it was a crime under Representation of People Act 1950. Sharma said that enrolled elector might check the particulars recorded in the electoral roll by sending the SMS to 07738299899.
The Deputy Commissioner said that any person of the age 18 years or above as on January 1, 2018 but who has not been enrolled as an elector, could become a voter by filling form no. 6 on www.nvsp.in till December 14, 2017. He said that the applicant just has to upload his coloured photograph along with proof of date of birth and proof of residence. Mr. Sharma appealed to people that eligible voter should apply online at www.nvsp.in for enrolment instead of using printed forms so that the particulars filled by the applicant may be printed correctly on EPIC.
