Chandigarh, May 29, 2016: Punjab Energy Development Agency being the State Designated Agency for the implementation of Energy Conservation Act-2001 in the state organized a one day workshop for ITI instructors on energy conservation & efficiency here at PEDA auditorium.
While inaugurating the workshop, Dr. Amarpal Singh, Chief Executive PEDA said that the workshop was organized to create awareness and capacity building of ITI instructors in the trades of electrical, mechanical and refrigeration on energy conservation & efficiency and adoption of renewable energy systems. Underlining the need for energy conservation & efficiency , the CEO urged the participants to disseminate this knowledge among the ITI students thereby further helping them to handle energy efficient operations of utilities such as boiler, furnaces, motors, pumps, compressors, air conditioners, DG set etc. during their jobs in the industry as well as in other establishments.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Balour Singh, Director, PEDA informed that PEDA has also developed the educational material on Energy Conservation for its incorporation in the ITIs and Diploma Engineering College Curriculum for the State and it has already sent to Department of Technical Education & Industrial Training.
The workshop organized with the coordination of Department of Technical Education & Industrial Training Punjab. More than 80 Government ITI instructors of electrical, mechanical and refrigeration wings participated in the workshop. Speakers / Experts from PEDA, NPC, NISST, CII and Accredited Energy Auditors of BEE made presentations on energy conservation & efficiency and adoption of renewable energy covering all types of electrical & thermal utilities.
