Mansa, February 23, 2018: Mansa Deputy Commissioner Mr. Dharam Pal Gupta today inaugurated the Rozgar Mela at Nehru Memorial Government College where 357 boys and girls got job letters from 13 different business houses and a multinational—Larson and Toubro (L&T).
Speaking during the occasion Mr. Gupta termed the Rozgar Mela of Punjab Government a success, which proved beneficial for large number of unemployed youth.
The youngsters started pouring since early morning and by noon nearly 250 candidates had already got themselves registered at multi-register counters in the college premises.
Earlier in the morning the Deputy Commissioner presided over a meeting in which all the representatives of 13 companies were also present. Mr. Gupta minutely discussed all the aspects of the recruitment procedure and urged the business houses to recruit maximum youngsters.
The Deputy Commissioner and Mansa SDM Abhijeet Kaplish (IAS) distributed 93 appointment letters to the young boys and girls and congratulated them.
Speaking during the occasion, HR representative of the L&T, Dharani Natrajan and Dasari Kantha Rao stated that their company is eager to enroll more youngsters. He said that during the previous Rozgar Mela, maximum 210 youngster were selected from Mansa as compared to all the other districts of state.
He said that for the first three months these selected boys and girls would be offered free boarding and lodging facility in Chennai after which they will get Rs 10,600 monthly salary. After the service of one year, ITI qualified would be promoted as Supervisors and they would be able to get Rs 20,000-25,000 monthly salary. The non-ITI holders would have to work for another 4 years after which they can get this much (Rs 20,000-Rs 25,000) of salary. "Those who would work for 4 years would get quick promotions, once they become supervisors in view of their 4 years experience," Natrajan said.
