Nawanshahr, May 24, 2018: The students of Government Middle School, Bhangal Kalan in the district - Kamaljit Mehmi and Jaspreet Kaur , have brought laurels by bagging first and third position respectively at the state level in National Means Cum Merit Scholarship ( NMMS) Exam. While Kamaljit bagged the first position by scoring 102 marks, Jaspreet Kaur scored 102 marks and bagged third position jointly with another student from district Bathinda. Divulging details, the District Education Officer, Vinod Kumar and District Science Supervisor, Surinder Pal Agnihotri said that as many as 430 students of the district had cleared the NMMS Exam, out of which 62 students on the basis of merit would be eligible for scholarship for continuing their studies up to + 2 level. Besides two students of Bhangal Kalan excelling at the state level, Baljit Kaur ( GSSS, Kahma) got 95 marks, Simran Kaur ( GSSS, Chak Bilga) got 91 and Kirandeep Kaur ( GHS, Rakkeran Dhahan) and Priyank Lochav ( GGSSS, Urapar) scored 90 marks each.
While congratulating the teachers, students and the parents, the District Education Officer, Vinod Kumar attributed the achievement to the dedicated efforts being put in by the teachers to implement the various projects including " Parho Punjab, Parhao Punjab" launched by the Secretary School Education, Krishan Kumar to bring in qualitative improvement in the school education.
