Fatehgarh Sahib, July 11, 2018: Keeping in view the religious and historical importance of Fatehgarh Sahib, the state and central governments have decided to develop it as a religious heritage tourism center of the world and sanctioned Rs.17 Crore for this purpose, under which all the historical and heritage buildings situated in the district will be preserved, said Kuljeet Singh Nagra MLA Fatehgarh Sahib, while talking to media after inaugurating the construction work of 1.16 KM road from Defence Bandh to Sirhind Mandi being constructed at the cost of Rs.20 Lakh here today.
He said that the state government has sanctioned Rs.99 Crore for laying sewerage in the entire historical town Sirhind Fatehgarh Sahib. He said that all the historical and religious places situated here will be linked through four lining roads and will be beautified by planting ornament trees, so that the tourist may feel proud while visiting their most religious place.
He said that the Chief Minister has sanctioned these funds for this historical district, where as SAD(B) led Government has not initiated any development project in this most historical district. He said the entire infrastructure and even the status of district to Fatehgarh Sahib was given by Congress Governments.
