Chandigarh July 20, 2018 :Panjab University Non Teaching Employees Federation (PUNTEF) gave a warm send-off to Prof.Arun Kumar Grover, Vice Chancellor, Panjab University, Chandigarh who successfully finished his six years tenure in PU, here today.
Col. G.S.Chadha (Retd.), Registrar, Panjab University, Chandigarh while appreciating the encouragement and support, he got for various issues of PU, said that Prof. Grover never lost his goal and always encouraged to find a solution to the problems. He applied his scientific approach to all the problems by breaking them into pieces then handling each piece separately to give the desired results. He is a true leader and he leads by himself first. He appreciated the efforts of Prof. Grover in bringing grants of Rs. 207 crores with an increase of annual 6 % from MHRD, which brought PU out of troubled waters.
Prof. Parvinder Singh, Controller of Examination, Panjab University, Chandigarh expressed his gratitude for Prof. Grover’s effort in bringing about various reforms in the online examination system in PU.
Vikram Nayyar, Finance & Development Officer, Panjab University, Chandigarh appreciated the exceptional qualities of Prof. Grover in inspiring all. Prof. Grover work tirelessly even in hostile situations with single handed agenda of taking PU to greater heights. Prof. Grover believed in working together rather than commanding to do. Prof. Grover always inspired all to turn the challenges into opportunities.
Deepak Kaushik, President, PUSA appreciated the leadership skills, encouragement, guidance and support which brought PU this far. Prof. Grover brought hope beyond expectations for the whole non teaching community.
Prof. Arun K. Grover in his address expressed his pleasure for the honour bestowed upon him by all. He shared his challenging journey of 6 years in PU. He urged all to enhance the developmental income of the University by innovative ways. He said that universities are created to thousands of years whereas we have lived only 75 years.
Prof. Grover was presented a photo album recollecting memorable moments of his six-year stay at PU. He was also presented with memento from PUNTEF.
