Fatehgarh Sahib, August 09, 2018: OP Soni Minister for Education and Environment, while talking to media persons here today said that the State Govt. is committed to improve the old age education system with the new high tech system by introducing new syllabus, arranging books before the start of session, new examination pattern and availability of teachers particularly in rural and border areas. Chief Minister has great concern for the Education and health and he has assured to release the required funds for education. Govt. is spending Rs.9000/- Crore annually on the salary of the Govt. teachers, but the required results are not coming rather the parents prefer to send their wards to private schools . He had come to inspect the frozen food factory at village Sadhugarh today.
Soni warned the Teacher’s Union leaders that he will not allow anyone to disrupt the education of students. The teachers have to teach and attend the classes, if anyone found indulging in protests or dharnas during teaching hour will not be spared at any cost. Siting example, he said he has suspended seven union leaders and leaders on ministerial staff. He clarified that everyone has the right to protest after duty hours. He said Govt. has conceded their genuine demands and there is no reason to organize dharnas.
He said at the cost of RS.90 Crore Govt. is going to set up smart modern schools in every tehsil, where the solar system, computers and high tech infrastructure. He said 80% vacant posts have been filled in border areas and soon the remaining will be filled.
Latter addressing the industrialists, he said that under Mission Tandrust Punjab, the State Govt. is committed to make pollution free. He said that various steps like introduction of pollution free industry, changeover of industry and automobile from traditional fuel to PNG and CNG. He said pollution control equipments have been made compulsory for industry.
