Jalandhar, September 13,2018 : - The health department on Thursday organized a seminar in DAV college to create awareness among the students about dengue disease under Mission Tandarust Punjab.
District Epidemiologists Dr Satish Kumar and Dr Shobna Bansal were key speakers in this seminar.
Revealing the details about the disease, they said that dengue is transmitted by the bite of Aedes mosquito which usually targets in the daytime. They revealed that severe headache, pain behind the eyes, muscles, and joint pains are symptoms of the disease.
District Epidemiologists further informed that Aedes mosquito breeds in desert coolers, water storage containers, tyres, overhead tanks and many more places where rainwater get collected or stored. They asked the students to motivate the people for keeping all water storage containers covered, besides old tyres, broken pots, crockery should be removed.
They advised them to appeal the people to put insecticides, petrol, and kerosene in coolers, containers etc once a week, which cannot be emptied or cleaned.
DAV College Professor Dr SK Khurana also motivated the students that it is the social responsibility of all human beings to keep their surroundings clean and green.
