Fatehgarh Sahib, September 23, 2018: As per the directions of CM Punjab, the revenue officials should immediately visit the villages to assess the loss to paddy crop due to rain and initiate Girdawari in a transparent manner, so that the affected farmers may get the relief in time, said Additional Deputy Commissioner (G) Jaspreet Singh IAS, while presiding over the monthly meeting of district officials here today. He directed the revenue officials to decide the division of land cases with consent and the old cases must be decided at the earliest by initiating day to day proceedings.
He said that 568.75 KM of roads are being repaired in the district at the cost of Rs.6536.87 Lakh. He directed the PWD officials to complete the repair work by 31st March at any cost and to maintain quality of work. He directed the concerned SDMs to keep a close watch on the works. He said that Diary Development Department after training has set up 85 new diary units in the district and arranged loans worth Rs.314.75 Lakh to unemployed youths to start their own diary ventures.
He urged the farmers not to burn the stubble as it not only causes pollution but also affects the fertility of land. He said there are 2.15 Lakh Acre of land under paddy cultivation in district and its burning costs Rs.3.5 Crore loss. He said that in 200 villages awareness camps had been organized and under Mission Tandrust Punjab State Govt. has already given 592 type of different agricultural machinery equipment like Super SMS, Happy seeder, Paddy straw, paddy multure, Rotary slasher, Rotavator and Zero till drill machine on 80% subsidy to Co-Operative societies to control the stubble burning. He said that at 50 customer Hiring Centers have been set up where 59 happy seeders, 59, 94 paddy straw chopper, Tractors, 18 Cutter cum choppers, 31 mulcher, 50 land leveler and 59 trolleys are available on cheap rent.
He directed the officials to contribute for the Ghar Ghar Hariali movement initiated by the State Govt. to make Fatehgarh Sahib Green. He said that 48000 saplings have been distributed under the scheme.
