Chandigarh, November 14, 2018 (Rajnish Sareen): Gujjar Kalyan Parishad, Chandigarh organised a function here at Gujjar Bhawan to honour meritorous strudents belonging to the Gujjar Community. As many as 400 students from Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Utar Pardesh, who have excelled in academic sphere during the 2016-17 and 2017-18 sessions were honoured with " Sardar Amrik Singh Memorial Gujjar Award". While Darshan Lal Mangupur, MLA from Balachaur ( Punjab) presided over, Jasbir Singh, former chairman, Khadi Gram Udhyog, New DElhi was the chief guest. Besides, galaxy of prominent personalities including KP Singh, DGP Haryana, Manvir Singh Badhana, chairman, Haryana Public Service Commission, Major General, Dr. D.V.Singh, Dr. Babita , president, All India Gujjar Mahasabha, Col Sant Ram Meelu and Narinder Meelu, president and general secretary respectively of the Gujjar Kalyan Parishad , Katar Singh Verma, graced the occasion.
While congratulating the young achievers, the dignitaries lauded the visionary approach of the Gujjar Kalyan Parishad towards community service . " The education is the pivot around which development and prosperity of any community revolves:", said the dignitaries while adding that by nurturing budding youth of the community, the Gujjar Kalyan Parishad had been doing a yeoman's service to the society. The Parishad also released souvenir on the occasion.
