Emphasize laid upon making pits for wet and dry garbage on common places during workshop on " segregation of garbage"
Cloth bags must be preferred in place of plastic or thermocol

Dr Gagan Kundra ,chairperson District Red Cross Hospital Welfare Society and ambassador of segregation of garbage movement today appealed people to come forward and recognise the need of creating seperate pits for wet and dry garbage on common places so that this garbage may later be converted into fertilizers. Presiding over a workshop held in district adminstrative complex ,she said that it is a collective task aiming at creating a healthy and clean surroundings.
She also clarified that procedure of creating pit does not involve any hazard . Taking the lead 25 no ward of city has made such pits and other wards are also passing resolutions to same effect.
She also said that it becomes incumbent upon every citizen to ensure cleanliness and use cloth bags instead of plastic bags or thermocol. Besides that, teams of Red Cross from last 5 months are approaching people and convincing them to start the practise of segregation of garbage.
Naresh Kumar,Manager State Solid Waste Management also told that such workshops are organised in all districts of state to create awareness regarding need of cleanliness in our society. He appealed people to understand their responsibility and move shoulder to shoulder with state government in this project of Swaccah Bharat.
Dr A.S Mann, Dr Mohan Sharma, Sarbjit Singh Rekhi, Parveen Bansal and Baldev Singh were also present on this occasion.
