Fatehgarh Sahib, December 03, 2018: A week long vocational training on ‘Poultry Farming’ for farmers, farm women and rural youths organised by Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Fatehgarh Sahib for the economic upliftment of farmers concluded here today. Hundreds of farmers belonging to different villages of Districts Fatehgarh Sahib, Patiala and Ludhiana participated in the training course.
Dr. Vipan Kumar Rampal, Deputy Director (Training) said that the trainers were enlightened about the importance of poultry sector and imparted scientific knowledge on various aspects of poultry farming for skill development, so that they may adopt poultry farming as allied business on the scientific lines to boost their finances.
Dr. Ajay Singh, Assistant Professor (Animal Science) provided information on various aspects including the breeds of poultry, selection of hatchery & chicks, Care and management of day old chicks, broiler and layer birds, Selection of site, Housing management, Water management, Feed preparation, Vaccination schedule and record keeping etc.
Sanjeev Sharma, DDM, NABARD briefed about various NABARD schemes and SurenderBansal, Chief Manager Lead Bank Sirhind elaborated about various loan schemes for the welfare of small and marginal farmers.
