Jalandhar, December 05, 2018: The district administration on Wednesday organized a seminar under the Drug Abuse Prevention Officer (DAPO) program in Government Girls Senior Secondary School, Nehru Garden.
Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (ADCP-II) Mrs D Sudarvizhi was the chief guest and Mrs Praveen Sharma, wife of Deputy Commissioner Jalandhar Varinder Kumar Sharma was special guest of the seminar.
Addressing the gathering, Mrs Sudarvizhi said that DAPO is one of the ambitious initiatives of the state government and the program is proving instrumental in eliminating the drugs from the state.She said that the supply line to the drugs has already snapped and now it is the time when the demand for the drug needs to be checked through wholehearted support of people under this program. She also detailed the program to the girls in the seminar.
ADCP asked the girls to create awareness about the ill-effects of drugs in their localities to make Punjab drug Free State. Moreover, she also told them about child helpline 1098 and 181-helpline for seeking any kind of help. On the occasion, Soil Conservation Officer Lupinder Kumar, School Principal Surinderjit Kaur, Lecturer Ms Alka Arora and others were available.
