Fatehgarh Sahib, February 08, 2019: Fatehgarh Sahib a historical and small district of the State has been adjudged the best industrial district in the State. Capt. Amrinder Singh Chief Minister handed over the award of best district to Shiv Dular Singh Dhillon Deputy Commissioner. Interestingly the award has been given as district administration played a vital role in implementing the Govt. industrial policies and it helped in revival of 300 Rolling Mills and furnaces in Asia’s biggest industrial town Mandi Gobindgarh, which were lying closed from last many years.
Shiv Dular Singh Dhillon DC said that due to properly implementation of new industrial policy of State Govt. the industry has revived. He said to revive 41 sick units of Mandi Gobindgarh MOUs worth Rs.602 Crore have been signed by State Govt. He said besides steel industry, manufacturing of Sewing machine parts industry at Sirhind, Bassi Pathana, Truck and Bus body building at Sirhind, pump manufacturing industry and other allied medium and small industries have also been revived and working full to their capacity.
