Jalandhar, February 15, 2019: The mega job fair organized by the Punjab government under Ghar Ghar Rozgar campaign today proved to be boon for 1008 unemployed youth, who got jobs during the job fair organized at the Shahpur campus of the CT institute.
The Deputy Commissioner Varinder Kumar Sharma, accompanied by Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development) Jitendra Jorwal and Chairman of CT group Charanjit Singh Channi, inaugurated the job fair in which 2537 jobless youth registered them. Around 41 leading companies including Axis Bank, ICICI Bank, Videocon, John Deere, Reliance, LIC, Zomato and others offered jobs to unemployed youth. During the job fair, 1008 youth were selected for the jobs on the spot whereas 165 others were shortlisted for jobs in the future.
Meanwhile, interacting with the youth the Deputy Commissioner said that it was a win-win situation for both the employees and employers. He said that under this unique initiative of the state government led by Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh a common platform has been provided to job seekers and job givers. Sharma said that job seekers could get the job of their choice and job givers could choose the candidates as per their requirements and capabilities.
Sharma told that it was a historic day for the youths as they were going to start a new inning in their lives. He told that it was just a beginning the marvelous success story which all of them were going to script in the future.
Exhorting the students to avail maximum benefits of the job fairs, the Deputy Commissioner said that second mega job fair would be organized at the DAV Institute of Engineering and Technology on February 21.
He said that the interested students could apply for the jobs by registering themselves with the District Bureau of Employment generation or logging in to www.ghargharrozgar.punjab.gov.in.
On the occasion Vice Chairman of CT group Harpreet Singh, District Employment Officer Ranjit Kaur and others were also present.
