Nawanshahr, February 17, 2019: While lauding the contribution of Sri Satguru Bhuriwale Garibdassi Education Trust under the dynamic and visionary stewardship of Vedant Acharaya, Chetna Nand Bhuriwale, present master of the Bhuriwale Sect, towards education of girls in the remote Kandi and bet area, Member NITI Aayog and Finance Commission,Prof. Remesh Chand said that providing education facilities was in fact an investment for the betterment of the society. He was addressing the gathering at the " Annual Prize Distribution Function" at Satguru Lal Dass Brahmanand Bhuriwale Garibdassi Girls College and Collegiate School, Tapparian Khurd, here today.
" The education helps us to be eligible for tapping job avenues, but when we educate the girls it becomes an investment for building a better society rather than just making them eligible for the jobs for earning livelihood", said Prof. Remesh Chand while adding that even if the educated girls could not get jobs , they would contribute to the society by providing strong foundation for the education of the future generations.
The NITI Aayog member assured that he would try at his level best to set up " Skill Development Centre" at the college to enable the girls of the rural background to excel further in the present era of technology. He distributed prizes to the students who have brought laurels to the institution in academics, sports and cultural activities at the state and the national level. While underlying the importance of inculcating habit of reading good books, Prof. Remesh Chand said that he would contribute a sum of Rs. 21000 for providing books for the college library.
