CP reiterates firm commitment to hold free, fair and peaceful upcoming electionss

Jalandhar, March 19, 2019: In a bid to ensure free, fair and peaceful polls in the district, the Jalandhar Commissionerate Police today organized a special checking at all the entry points of the city during which hundreds of vehicles entering into the city were checked by the Police force.
Divulging the details, the Commissioner of Police Jalandhar Gurpreet Singh Bhullar said that during this special sealing of the city, every vehicle entering the city was thoroughly checked. He said that in wake of the upcoming polls the Commissionerate Police was on high alert and no stone was being left unturned to ensure safety and security of people. Bhullar said that during the checking special teams led by an Assistant Commissioner of Police level officer conducted the checking of vehicles.
Likewise, the Commissioner of Police said that Deputy Commissioner of Police Mr. PBS Parmar, Additional Deputy Commissioners of Police Ms. D Sudharvizhi and PS Bendall were monitoring the entire operations. He said that for this special checking the Commissionerate Police had taken the help of extra force from the PAP and others. Bhullar said that the special sealing was done at all the entry points of the city including opposite AS Farms Amritsar road, near Reru Chowk on Pathankot road, Near Parminder Hospital Lamma Pind to Hoshiarpur Road, Nangal Shama Chowk, Rama Mandi, Paragpur village, 66 feet road, Wadala Chowk, Ghaa Mandi and Nehar Pulli on Kapurthala Road. He said that besides this special nakas were also installed at two places in all the Police stations of the city.
The Commissioner of Police said that anyone trying to disturb the peaceful conduct of these upcoming elections would be dealt sternly as per the law. He said that strict vigil was being kept on the anti-social elements by the Police adding that law and order would be maintained every cost.
