Transport & Police department launches special drive

Continuing drive against the violators of traffic norms, the Transport and Police department today jointly challaned more than 25 vehicles found violating the traffic rules in the district.
Led by Secretary RTA Dr. Nayan Jassal and Assistant Commissioner of Police Vaibhav Sehgal both the departments conducted checking near the local Pathankot Chowk. During the checking the officers inspected several vehicles and challaned more than 25 vehicles for various violations of law.
The vehicles owners were issued challans for having black films, lack of helmet, overload and over height heavy vehicles, without documents, pressure horn and others.
Meanwhile, the RTA Dr Nayan said that checking at different areas would be a constant feature now and the violators would not be spared at any cost. She exhorted the people to follow traffic rules as it would help in streamlining traffic system in the city thereby reducing the accidents in the city.
The police officer Vaibhav Sehgal also warned the people that any violator found breaking the traffic rules would not be spared at any cost.
