Jalandhar, March 22, 2019: As a part of the year long series of events dedicated to the 550th Gurpurab Celebration of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, a very special guest lecture was organized by the Centre for Punjabi Culture and Folklore Studies, Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar. This guest lecture was delivered by renowned scholar Dr. Gurmeet Singh, Former Professor and Head, The School for Punjabi Studies, Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar. College Principal Dr. Gurpinder Singh Samra welcomed him to the college and informed the audience about the year-long series of various events and programs planned by the college dedicated to the historic Gurupurab of Sri Guru Nanak Dev ji. On this occasion, Dr. Gurmeet Singh delivered an eloquent lecture based on the unmatched Gurbani recited by Guru Nanak Dev ji and its study in the context of Punjabi folklore. The program also witnessed the releasing of a book ‘Insaaniyat da Suneha’ written by overseas Punjabi author Mahinder Singh Sanghera and his views were also heard on the subject of overseas way of life. Head of the Punjabi department, Dr. Gopal Singh Buttar also shared his views regarding the dignitaries on the stage. Vote of thanks on this occasion was made by Dr. Harjinder Singh Sekhon and the program was also attended by Dr. Sukhdev Singh Nagra, Dr. Surinderpal Mand, Prof. Kuldip Sodhi, Dr. Sukhwinder Singh, Prof. Gurjeet Singh Khosa and Prof. Sukhraj Kaur along with a large number of students in attendance.
