Nawanshahr, April 14, 2019: "The exercising of right to vote ethically wuld be the real tribute to Dr. BR Ambedkar, architect of the Indian Constituency", said the Deputy Commissioner, Vinay Bublani, while presiding over the district level function organised here at KC Group of Institutes to commemorate the 128th birth anniversary of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar.
" Dr. Ambedkar was a great visionary and wanted to set up democratic India having social and economic equality. These principles are associated with the right to vote. Hence, if we want to translate the philosophy and ideology of Dr. Ambedkar into reality in its true spirit, then it is our utmost duty to exercise right to vote ethically and judiciously", further said the DC while exhorting the all sections of the society especially youth to take a pledge to poll their votes on May 19. With exercising right to vote, we can protect our constitutional rights as well as ensure progress of the country.
Social workers Sokhi Ram Bajjon and Birbal Takhi , District Welfare Officer, Rajinder Kumar delivered lecturers to highlight the life, philosophy and his contribution towards enacting constitution to realise the dream of setting up democracy, secularism, social and economic equality in independent India. The students of Baba Gola Govt. Girls Sr. Sec. School, Banga presented Gidda and recited " Loktantari Boliyan" to spread the message of using right to vote.
Under SVEEP activity, a Quiz competition on the topics of Election and life of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar was also organised and prizes to the students who have excelled in the competition were also distributed.
ADC cum Nodal Officer SVEEP, Anupam Kaler, SDM, Nawanshahr, Dr. Vineet Kumar, Tehsidar Nawanshahr, Arvind Parkash Verma, Principal, KC College, V.K. Joshi, District Science Supervisor, Surinder Pal Agnihotri, District Guidance Counsellor, Vipin Kumar,, among others, were present on the occasion.
Earlier, the Deputy Commissioner, Vinay Bublani, ADC(G) Anupam Kaler, SDM, DR. Vineet Kumar paid tributes to Dr. Ambedkar by garlanding the statue here in the District Administrative Complex.
