CHANDIGARH, APRIL 22, 2019: Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh on Monday expressed profound grief over the demise of ex-MLA from Shutrana and former Minister Hamir Singh Ghagga (65), who breathed his last at his residence in Patiala this evening after a prolonged illness. He is survived by his wife, two sons and a daughter.
In a condolence message, the Chief Minister described Hamir Singh Ghagga as a gentleman politician and leader of masses with the qualities of head and heart, who worked relentlessly for the welfare of weaker sections of the society. Captain Amarinder Singh further said that people of the area would ever remember Ghagga for his pro-poor approach at the grassroots level.
Sharing his heartfelt sympathies with the bereaved family, relatives and friends, the Chief Minister prayed to the Almighty to give courage to them to bear this irreparable loss and grant peace to the departed soul.
