Nawanshahr, May 08, 2019 : The Education Secretary, Krishan Kumar has expressed gratitude towards the government school teachers for the unprecedented marvellous performance of the government school students in the Matriculation Examination. In his address via Edusat , Krishan Kumar, said that the result declared today by the Punjab School Education Board had emphatically signified that the " Parho Punjab, Parhao Punjab" project, launched in the state to bring in qualitative improvement in the education system had started yielding desired results.
" The PSEB Matric result shows that the government school students have fared far better than the private schools. While the pas percentage of government schools is 88.21 % , the pass percentage of the private schools is 79.51 %, which is 8.7 % more than the private schools. Besides, the pass percentage of government schools has witnessed 30.07 % improvement than the previous academic year", which itself signifies the voluminousness of the success story", said Krishan Kumar while lauding the consistent, relentless and dedicated efforts of the school teachers in particular and the officials, school heads and the non teaching staff of the education department in general for the great achievement.
" The pass percentage of the girls and boys have witnessed improvement of 21.5 % and 28.99 % respectively than the previous year. Similarly, the pass percentage of rural and urban schools have witnessed improvement of 35.2% and 29.51 % respectively this year", further added the Education Secretary while exhorting the teachers to keep their zest to strengthen the " Shikhiya Sudhaar Muhim" in future also.
"The micro planning in each and every student as well as consistent monitoring by the school heads and subject teachers, the motivation and guidance by the officials of the Education Department, members of the " Parho Punjab, Parhao Punjab" and Zila Shikhiya Sudhar Teams, have paid rich dividends and the encouraging results would definitely bring in change in the public perception about the government schools as well as the school teachers", said Krishan Kumar while lauding the .Education Secretary the best efforts being put in by the school teachers to ensure community participation for converting the drive into mass movement. The teachers with the cooperation of the community had been sprucing up the infrastructure as well as implementing ‘Parho Punjab, Parhao Punjab’ project in converting the schools into Smart Schools, education through innovative teaching-learning techniques, e-content , co-curricular and sports activities to ensure overall personality development of the students.
