Fatehgarh Sahib. May.11, 2019: Govt. School students performed excellently in the district as seven students from Govt. Schools out of eight figured in the merit list, whereas only one student from private schools made it to merit list, as per the results of plus two declared by Punjab School Education Board today. Interestingly out of seven Govt. School students four are from Govt. Boys Senior Secondary School Amloh.
As per merit list Arpit Kaur from Govt. Senior Secondary School ( GSSS) Amloh with 97.11% topped in Non Medical in the district and got 11th rank in State, Komal Preet of GSSS Bhari got 96.22% remained 2nd in non medical in district and 15th in State, Deepak Kumar of GSSS Amloh got 96% remained 3rd in district and 16th in State, Bhavika Kapoor of Saheed Bhagat Singh Senior Secondary School Chuni got 96.44% topped in medical stream in district and 14th in State, Harsh Bansal of GSSS Bassi Pathana got 96% remained second in medical stream in district and 16th in State, Shivam Puri of GSSS Amloh with 96.22% topped in Arts stream in district and 15th in State, Geeta Rani of GSSS Amloh with 95.33% remained second in Arts stream in district and 19th in State and Meenashu Rana of GSSS Amloh with 95.33% topped in district in Commerce stream and 19th in State.
Paramjit Kaur Sidhu District Education Officer (Secondary) congratulated the student and staff of these schools, who bought laurels to the district. She said all the merit holders will be honoured. She said Fatehgarh Sahib District was earlier at 6th rank in the State but now it has jumped to 4th rank in State. She said the result of district is 91.12%, which is 28% higher than previous year.
