June.10, 2019: Deputy Commissioner Dr. Parshant Goyal, while presiding over the monthly review meeting of district officials here today directed the heads of different departments to pull their socks and to complete the ongoing development projects and to implement the Govt. sponsored public welfare schemes at grass root level, which had come to standstill due to model code of conduct. He warned them to work in co-ordination so that the targets are achieved and the benefits of schemes reach at grass root level to real beneficiaries. He said the camps under MG Sarvat Vikas Yojna are being started from 20th June at district, sub division and block level, where the heads of all the Govt. departments will set under one roof to redress the grievances of the people on their door steps.
During the meeting XEN PWD expressed concern over the working of Sewerage Board and he alleged that all the roads which were repaired at the cost of lakhs of rupees have been dug by sewerage board; even the newly constructed roads are being dug. He told DC that he was upset over their working. Sources told that DC has called the meeting of both the departments tomorrow.
When contacted Rajeev Kapoor SDO Sewerage board, he denied the allegation and said that they first inform the PWD department get their approval and after depositing the money they dig the road. He said the sewerage has to be laid in entire town and work is going on.
It is worth mentioning that the entire Sirhind and Fatehgarh Sahib area has been dug by sewerage board from the last two years and no road, street in the town is worth driving. The people are most sufferers and they voted against ruling party due to lack of basic amenities in town. It looks there is no administration in the towns. Now DC has initiated and hopes the situation will improve.
DC also directed them to redress the grievances of the people and get their work done with in stipulated period as per the provisions of Right to Service Act, so that they may not face unnecessary harassment in Govt. offices, if anyone found responsible for delay suitable action will be initiated against him. He directed the revenue officials to decide the pending division of land cases within six months at every cost and all the other revenue related cases must be decided at the earliest by initiating day to day proceedings.
He directed the Water Supply officials to ensure that all water tube wells in rural and urban areas are in working condition. He directed the Civil Surgeon to ensure that specialist doctors must attend the OPD daily, so that the patients may not suffer.
