Jalandhar, June 17,2019: A total of 44717 children between 0-5 years of age were given polio drops by the health teams on the second day of three-day polio drive started on June 16.
Divulging the details, Civil Surgeon Dr Rajesh Bagga told that during the drive today, 1089 health teams administered polio drops to 35097 children in urban and 9620 children in rural areas.
He said that a total of 1089 teams were formed for this purpose and 152 supervisors were deputed to carry out the drive. Besides, front line health workers including ASHA, Multiple Health Workers, college students and others took part in the drive, he added.
He said that the migratory population residing in slums and brick kilns was specially covered in this drive.
Dr Bagga added that Assistant Health Officer Dr TP Singh, District Epidemiologist Dr. Satish Kumar, WHO SMO Dr Rishi, Urban Nodal Officer Dr Priyanka Bhandari checked the drive in Bhagat Singh Colony, Maqsudan Bypass road, Indira Colony, Suchi Pind and also administrated the drops to the children in slum areas
