Secretary, Rastriya Sikh Sangat Sobti meets State Agri. Minister to help flood affected farmers
Sangrur, July 20, 2019: Rastriya Sikh Sangat, Secretary Honey Sobti met Union Minister State of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Parshottam Khodabhai Rupala to discuss the problem of Sikh farmers in state of Punjab where heavy rain in the Phulad village caused flooding in 2,000 acres of agricultural fields in Sangrur district .
Sobti alleged that local Administration was aware of the situation but no timely action was taken on time to safeguard crops from floods. Ghaggar river was flowing almost at the danger mark of 750 feet in the district.
Sikh Sangat requested Minister to personally monitor the situation and provide directions to the officials.
