Nawanshahr, August 10, 2019 - To overcome the shortage of Revenue Patwaris in Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar District, the district administration has decided to go ahead with recruitment on contract basis amongst the retired patawaris/kanungos.
Divulging the details, MLA Nawanshahr Angad Singh , who had also raised the issue in Vidhan Sabha Session, told that we had a short fall of 130 posts against the sanction strength of 179 in the district.
" The people have to face a lot of inconvenience due to scarcity. The process of fresh recruitment would take one and half year to get complete. So, a request was made to the Chief Minister to allow the district to re-recruit the retired persons to ensure smooth flow of the work.
Earlier, the issue was also raised by the MLA Angad Singh during the meeting of District Grievances Redressal Committee chaired by Industry Minister Sunder Sham Arora on June 28.
He said by pleading the case repeatedly, Chief Minister has given his consent to fill the vacant posts of Revenue Patwaris by re-recruiting retired persons .
Deputy Commissioner, Vinay Bubalni added that a formal letter regarding recruitment of Revenue Patwaris amongst the retired Patwaris/Kanungos had been received from Financial Commissioner (Revenue) previous day. Acting swiftly to provide relief to the residents, as many as 126 posts had been advertised. He expressed hope that the process would be completed in time. He also added that the vacancies of 42 Ministerial staff of Deputy Commissioner office and sub divisons had also been filled recently and it would be instrumental to provide major relief to the general public.
