CM CAPT AMARINDER SINGH TO UNFURL NATIONAL FLAG IN GGS STADIUM

Jalandhar, August 13, 2019: - In order to keep a strict vigil in the city ahead of state-level Independence Day function at Guru Gobind Singh Stadium where Punjab Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh would hoist tricolor on August 15, the Commissionerate Police have upped the security in the city.
Divulging the details, the Commissioner of Police Gurpreet Singh Bhullar said that Anti-sabotage teams and Dog Squad teams led by Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) rank officer Gurpreet Singh has been put into the action and teams will check sensitive and busy areas, bus stand, railway station, shopping malls and others.
The Commissioner of Police said that apart from the anti-sabotage and dog squad team of the Commissionerate police, a dog a squad of Second Army Dog Unit has also been deputed to prevent any kind of untoward incident.
He said that dog squads were specially brought with the motive to ensure foolproof security and told canine detectives are very much helpful in detection.
Bhullar said that CCTV cameras have been installed at the venue for keeping a regular check-in and around the stadium. Commissioner of Police added that security has also been enhanced in the city to check any sort of anti-social activity. Bhullar said that round the clock vigil was being kept in the city for which various patrolling parties of the Police officials have been set up. Likewise, he told that officers have been instructed to conduct night domination in the city to keep a strict eye on law and order situation.
