Jalandhar, August 17, 2019: The anti-larva cell of the health department on Saturday detected 31 dengue larva cases in various places of the city during its drive against the vector-borne diseases under Tandarust Punjab Mission.
Separate teams of anti-larva cell led by Harpreet Pal, Mandeep Singh, Davinder Kumar, Piara Lal, Prem Parkash, Sher Singh, Sukhjinder, Rajwinder Singh, Vinod Kumar, Amit Kumar, Raj Kumar, and Kamaldeep carried out special checking in Kishanpura, New Rattan Nagar, Sanjay Gandhi Nagar, Faggu Mohalla, Baba Budha Ji Nagar, Transport Nagar, Babu Labh Singh Nagar and Army Enclave.
The teams visited 442 houses covered the population of 1850 and checked 142 desert coolers and 589 waste containers.
The teams’ members told the residents that the desert coolers, containers could act as a breeding ground for the mosquitoes to spread diseases like dengue, malaria, and others. They said that the drive was aimed at identifying vulnerable places for producing the larva of mosquitoes.
They said that the special inspection was a part of the drive under ‘Tandarust Punjab’s mission to ensure that vector-borne diseases were checked well in advance.
