MP, Divisional Commissioner, DC and SSP review the situation

Mao Sahib ( Jalandhar), August 19, 2019: Lok Sabha MP Chaudhary Santokh Singh, Commissioner Jalandhar Division B Purusartha, Deputy Commissioner Varinder Kumar Sharma and Senior Superintendent of Police Navjot Singh Mahal today said that state government would duly compensate the people for loss due to floods.
The MP, Divisional Commissioner, Deputy Commissioner and Senior Superintendent of Police today reviewed the entire loss due to flood caused as a result of breach in river Satluj from four places. Minutely overseeing the loss due to flood in 11 villages on boat, they said that adequate steps would be taken to compensate the loss of people. They said that roughly loss has taken place in 31 villages of Phillaur Sub Division as a result of which around 11400 acres of land has been submerged in water thereby resulting in huge loss of crop.
They said that every single penny of loss of people would be compensated by the state government. They said that no stone would be left unturned for helping the people in this hour of distress. They also announced to initiate massive steps for strengthening of the banks of Satluj river to avert further loss.
They said that besides the irrigation and drainage department help would also be taken from renowned Environmentalist Sant Baba Balbir Singh Seechewal for plugging the breach of river Satluj. They said that this work would be done on war footing to ensure that people were facilitated at the earliest. They further said that the state government led by Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh was with the people in this hour of crisis.
On the occasion General Secretary of Punjab Congress Chaudhary Vikram Singh, Additional Deputy Commissioner Jasbir Singh, Superintendent of Police Gurmeet Singh, Deputy Superintendent of Police Sarabjit Rai and Davinder Attri, Station House Officer Sukha Singh and others were also present.
