Students of MYAS-GNDU Department of Sports Sciences and Medicine presented skits to create awareness about medical negligence

Amritsar, September 10, 2019: The students of MYAS-GNDU Department of Sports Sciences and Medicine of the Guru Nanak Dev University organized an awareness program on 'Sports Physiotherapy' on the occasion of 'World Physiotherapy Day' at the newly build Golden Expressions Amphitheatre. A large number of students and faculty participated.
The event started with the play where students portrayed the wrong ways to attend a medical emergency and explained the need for awareness. In next session, the role and the need for sports physiotherapist with help of small skits were performed by the students of the first year of MPT (Sports Physiotherapy).
In this program, the students of MYAS-GNDU Department of Sports Sciences and Medicine delivered lectures on the role of physiotherapy in Low back pain, athletic injuries, post operative stiffness and knee pain. The students also explained the ways of basic life support and ways of attending medical emergencies and the first aid techniques for fractures, bleeding and dehydration.
