Six Benches Set up At Nawanshahr and One At Balachaur

Nawanshahr, September 14, 2019: As many as 1357 cases were disposed of, today, during National Lok Adalat held at Judicial Courts Nawanshahar and Blachaur. A total of 2318 cases related to criminal compoundable cases, Negotiable Instruments Act under section 138 cases, MACT, Matrimonial Disputes, Labour, bank recovery, debt recovery tribunal cases and pre-litigation cases were taken up during the special Lok Adalat. During the disposal of the cases, award money of Rs 98758876 passed.
Disclosing this here today, Secretary, District Legal Services Authority, Ms Harpreet Kaur, Chief Judicial Magistrate said that a total of seven benches set up at Nawanshahr and Balachaur. The judicial officers, Sh. Randhir Verma Additional district and Sessions Judge, Sh. Ashok Kapur, Judge, District Family Court, Satwinder Singh Permanant Lok Adalat, Sh. Yukti Goyal, Civil Judge (Sen. Division), Mr. Raman Sharma, Chief Judicial Magistrate, Harpreet Kaur Civil Judge (Junior Division) chaired the benches at Nawanshahr while Balwinder Kaur Dhaliwal, Sub Divisional Judicial Magistrate at Balchuar.
Mr. A. S. Grewal, District and Sessions Judge cum Chairman District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), SBS Nagar, said that by setlleing their cases through lok adalats, one can save his time and money. The court fee is also refunded when they settle their case in lok adalat. Due to speedy disposal of cases in Lok Adalats, the pendency of cases in courts would decrease, he added.
