Ban orders issued to maintain law & order in District
Issues list of places where rallies/protests can be held after taking due permissions
Ludhiana, September 14, 2019: In view to maintain law and order in district Ludhiana, District Magistrate-cum-Deputy Commissioner Mr Pradeep Kumar Agrawal has banned the assembly of five or more persons, holding protests/processions. He has also issued a list of places where protests/processions can be organised by taking due permissions from the authorities.
In the ban orders issued under section 144 of CrPC, Mr Pradeep Kumar Agrawal stated that assembly of five or more persons, holding rallies/protests in district Ludhiana has been banned. He stated that as per the orders issued by the Hon’ble court in Civil Writ Petition number 28061 of 2017, SSP Ludhiana (Rural) and Khanna has provided a list of places where protests/processions can be organised by taking due permissions from the authorities.
In Jagraon, protests/rallies can be held at Pashu Mandi and at grain market opposite Market Committee office in Sidhwan Bet, in Dakha at grain market, Raqba Road, Mullanpur, at grain market Bhumal and at grain market Jodhan, in Raikot at grain Market Sudhar, at truck union Raikot and at grain market Bassian, in Khanna at grain market Rohan, at Pashu Mandi near Alour and at land of Municipal Council Khanna near Atwal Palace, in Samrala at grain market on Chawa Road Samrala, at grain market Machhiwara and at Punjab Mandi Board land adjoining gate no 1 of grain market on Samrala-Bija Road, in Payal at grain market Payal, grain market Doraha and at grain market Malaud.
Mr Agrawal stated that protests/rallies/assembly of five or more persons is banned at the above mentioned places without permission from the concerned authorities. These ban orders would remain in force till November 12, 2019.
