JALANDHAR, November 1, 2019 – Additional deputy commissioner(Development) . Kulwant Singh directed the Agriculture and allied departments to sensitize the farmers about various programs launched by Punjab Government led by Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh for ensuring the maximum benefits to the farmers in the district.
Presiding over a meeting to review the working of agriculture and allied sector here at District administrative complex, Additional Deputy Commissioner said that the state government has initiated various schemes for the peasantry.
He told that the agriculture department along with others like Horticulture, Dairy, and Animal Husbandry, Fishery, Irrigation, Forest, Markfed and others must chalk out a joint strategy for ensuring the prosperity of the farmers.
Meanwhile, during the meeting, Chief Agriculture Officer Dr. Nazar Singh informed that the department has organized one district-level farmers’ training camp, 10 blocks and 53 village level. He also told that the department has collected 80 samples of seeds of various crops.
Similarly, the officials from horticulture, Animal Husbandry, Dairy, and other departments detailed the works carried out by them to facilitate the farmers in the previous month.
On the occasion, Additional Deputy Commissioner . Jasbir Singh, SDMs Rahul Sindhu, Amit Kumar Panchal, Vineet Kumar, MC Joint Commissioner Harcharan Singh, Assistant Commissioner Mr Warjeet Walia, Chief Agriculture Officer Dr. Nazar Singh, Agriculture Officer Naresh Gultai, ACP HS Bhalla and others were present.
