Punjabi University, Patiala Conducted 7th South Asian History Conference

The department of History, Punjabi University, Patiala Conducted 7th South Asian History Conference on the theme “Trade, Trade Routes and Travels in South Asia (Commemorating the 550thbirth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev)”. On the evening of the first day of the three days conference, a cultural evening was organised for the delegates at the Kala Bhawan. The programme began on a bright note with the welcoming of the guests and lighting of the lamp. Heart throbbing performances were made by Dr. Mujtaba Hussain, a noted flute player; Nidhi Batra Narang, a renowned singer; Aryanz band and Lok Nach society.
Janab Mohammad Siddique, Member of Parliament, Faridkot, Punjab was the Chief guest. While speaking about the event, Mr. Siddique said such programs are play a significant role in spreading the fragrance of our culture as guests from various cultures receive the real depiction of us. The felicitation ceremony was presided by Prof. B.S. Human, Vice-Chancellor, Punjabi University, Patiala. Prof. Ghuman also appreciated the event and shared some anecdotes concerned with Mohammad Siddique.Dr. Mohammed Idris, Head, Department of History; Dr. D.S. Dillon; Dr. Jaspal Kaur Dhanju; Dr. Sukhninder Kaur, Dr. Parneet Kaur; Dr. Balraj Singh; Dr. Sandeep Kaur all made the occasion gracious with their presence .
