MADE 2.25 LAKH e-CARDS IN FAZILKA DISTRICT
SARBAT SEHAT BIMA YOJANA FACILITATES TREATMENT UP TO Rs. 5 LAKH TO BENEFICIARIES

FAZILKA, NOVEMBER 27, 2019: The Punjab Government’s prestigious Sarbat Sehat Bima Yojana is proving a boon for the beneficiaries as under this scheme as many as 2,25,594 e-cards (Gold Cards) have been made in the district to provide treatment up to Rs 5 lakh to the needy people.
Disclosing this here today, Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Dr. R. P. Singh said Sarbat Sehat Bima Yojna aimed to provide free treatment up to Rs 5 lakh to the beneficiaries per year. He appealed the residents of the district to take full advantage of this scheme.
The Additional Deputy Commissioner further said that the State Government had started this scheme on August 20, 2019, under which treatment up to Rs 5 lakh was being provided free of cost by providing the list of Government and Private empanelled hospitals to facilitate the beneficiaries. He said that in Fazilka as many as six Government Hospital and Community Health Centres besides 11 private hospitals had been empanelled. He stated that in these empanelled hospitals a total 1449 card holders had availed healthcare facilities including 832 in Government Hospitals and 617 in private hospitals.
Meanwhile, the Civil Surgeon Dr. Daler Singh Multani said that eligible beneficiaries could get the treatment in the empanelled hospitals free of cost. Sarbat Sehat Bima Yojana stipulates treatment packages of 1396 types including common diseases to major operation. He said Smart Card holder families, small traders, farmer’s families (J card holders), construction workers registered with Labour Department had been availing the benefit under this Scheme. He said that increasing the ambit of scheme the state Government had included the journalists so that maximum people could avail its benefit.
