Road Safety Week from January 11th to 17th.

Secretary Regional Transport Authority (RTA) Nayan Jassal today embarked a signature campaign at her office to mark the beginning of the Road Safety Week from January 11th to 17th.
Starting the signature campaign, Secretary RTA said that road safety could save many lives adding that while driving a number of things like traffic rules, signboards, wearing seat belt and helmets must also be kept in mind. She said that ideally speed limit of the vehicle should be between 40-55 Km/h and driving under the influence of alcohol, drugs and others must be avoided. Likewise, Nayan Jassal also said that proper maintenance of vehicle should also be ensured.
The Secretary RTA further said that driving was a careful activity and it should be performed with both mental and physical alertness. She also insisted that safety rules must be followed out as duty not as a burden or restriction adding that every driver should show his responsibility towards the society. Nayan Jassal said that the campaign would be further carried during the coming days in the educational institutes of the district (SB)
