Abohar, 10 January: After the implementation of the new Motor Vehicle Amendment Bill the police administration has started making people aware about its provisions.
Sub Divisional administration organised a workshop in SDM office on Friday.
DSP Rahul Bhardwaj, SDM Poonam Singh and District In-charge of Traffic Education Jangir Singh aware the school children regarding provisions of new motor vehicle act.
On this occasion, DSP Rahul and Jangir Singh told the school children that in this bill, very stringent provisions have been made with an aim to reduce road accidents. Provision for stringent fines on violation of rules such as driving by teen minors, driving without license, driving dangerously, driving drunk, driving faster than the prescribed limit and driving people over or exceeding the prescribed standards has been done.
Apart from this, the provision of fine driving, driving without an insurance policy and driving without a helmet and the suspension of license for a fixed period are included in the Bill. In case of any crime on the road by the teenager, the owner or guardian of the vehicle will be held guilty and registration of the vehicle will also be cancelled.
On this occasion, SDM Poonam Singh asked the children to make aware other fellow friends regarding the new Motor Vehicle Act implementation; they should form groups in schools to make other children aware as well as their families and nearby people so that this law can be implemented in better way. Apart from this, she motivated the children to work hard to achieve their goals by setting goals of their lives.
