The government school teachers and officials of the education department, it seems, have virtually been galvanised into a force to reckon with, thanks to the consistent and relentless motivational drive by the Education Secretary, Krishan Kumar. The school teachers have not only toiled hard to implement the " Shikhiya Sudhar Muhim" ( Quality Improvement drive in education) at the ground level successfully but have fully geared up to out smart the private schools by toiling hard to accomplish the " Mission Cent Percent" and " Each one, Bring One".
While the teachers have braved the extreme cold and even sacrificed their social engagements during holidays or Sundays to take extra classes to achieve the target of cent percent results in the ensuing PSEB examinations, they have been toiling hard to make the masses aware about the extension and augmentation of infrastructural facilities to ensure qualitative improvement in the government schools to ensure comprehensive personality development of the students. The Officials of the education department and the school teachers have been making each and every possible efforts to mobilise community to enroll their wards in government schools rather than getting financially exploited on the pretext of providing quality education by the private schools.
Under the " Each One, Bring One" drive, the school teachers have been going door to door, taking out awareness rallies, distributing pamphlets, affixing flex boards and setting up stalls during "Khed melas" and religious congregatios highlighting the available infrastructural and quality education facilities and achievements of their respective schools at public places. The District Education Officer( SE), Harcharan Singh, District Education Officer(EE), Pawan Kumar accompanied by the " Parho Punjab, Parhao Punjab" and " Zila Shikhiya Sudhar Team" have also been organising " Nukkad Meetings" in the villages to sensitise the people about the ushering in of qualitative improvement in government schools.
Besides, the extensive use of social media is being done to propagate the achievements of the govt schools. Facebook page of each and every school has been created. What's App groups of different sections of the society have been formed to share the different activities.
Lending new dimension to the " Each One, Bring One" drive, the Government Middle School, Karimpur organised a visit of the nearby private school students and their parents to enable them to have the first hand experience of the infrastructural facilities available in the schools for providing quality education. The school teachers - Monika Sharma, Sukhdeep Kaur, Sunny Kumar and the Zila Shikhiya Sudhar Team comprising Parmod Bharti, Nirmal Singh and Vinay Kumar, exhibited various facilities including use of e content as well as the achievements of the students in different fields. The students also presented their skills especially in English speaking to showcase the qualitative changes in the functioning of the government schools.
