Munich (Germany), May 23, 2016: Indian shooters Lajja Gauswami and Anjum Moudgil booked their respective qualification round slots in the Women’s 50M Rifle 3 Positions event on day three of the International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) World Cup (Rifle/Pistol) at Munich’s Olympic Shooting Centre. Lajja shot 576 to finish 19th in her elimination relay while Anjum scored 574 to end 23rd in hers. Both will vie for a place in the eight woman final slated for day four.
Among the other Indians in the fray on day three Gurpreet Singh finished 26th in the Men’s 25M Rapid Fire Pistol with a score of 573. His other Indian teammates in the event, Harpreet Singh and Akshay Suhas Ashtaputre shot 568 and 545 respectively to finish in 36th and 52nd spots. In the Men’s 50M Rifle Prone, Rio Olympics bound Chain Singh shot 624.3 to end in 29th place while London Olympics Bronze medalist Gagan Narang shot 620.6 to finish in 52nd place.
Day four, besides the Women’s 3P finals will also see the Men’s 10M Air Pistol finals with four Indians Jitu Rai, Gurpreet Singh, Prakash Nanjappa and Omkar Singh participating
