Indianapolis, September 10, 2017: Asian Americans enjoy a great reputation; advantage of playing a team game, putting 10,000 hours to master skills, faith, heritage and cultural were some of the key points which were explained by Mr Timothy Go, the Chief Executive Officer of Calumet Specialty Products Partners, L.P. at the Asian American Alliance's "A Seat At The Table" event at Barnes & Thornburg Buildings in Downtown, Indianapolis.
Mr. Tim, who possesses more than 25 years of experience serving in executive-level roles at leading global energy companies operating in the petroleum refining and specialty products markets, described Asian Americans as "we got a great reputation, techically sound, smart and very competitive..... to make the next level."
Mr. Tim, who earlier served as vice president, operations and as vice president, operations excellence at Flint Hills Resources, L.P., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Koch Industries, Inc said "to achieve greater success one must practice for 10,000 hours to master the skills. It is not that one puts 10,000 hours to practice violin or put 10,000 hours in music, math or science etc. It is how you react to the people, working together with the team and forming coordination."
Further importanace of team work, Mr Tim said proper coordination, working together with proper understanding would pay the way for success. "If you are playing an individual game in basketball, team will not successd. The focus should be on total team work to achieve the goal." The same strategy and planning are required for a team work in a company. " You have to be reacting to the crisis, adjusting and responsive."
Answering a question asked by Accenture Accounts Executive and Asian Americans Alliance Board member Rupal Thanawala, "how he would look Tim in the mirror 30 years back?" Calumet Specialty Products Partners CEO Tim said in a lighter vein "If I am talking to myself I will say pick up golf at the age of 20. I tried to learn golf at 30. It is tough."
The Asian American Alliance Board Members, including KP Singh, Rupal Thanawala, Young-Hee Yedinak, David A. W. Wong, and Jeff Papa, Robbie Singh, Parveen Kumar were among those who attended the event.
