Prof Kaptan Singh Solanki flags off Mountaineering Expedition Team in Haryana Raj Bhavan, Chandigarh, on Friday
Chandigarh May 25:
The Governor Haryana, Punjab and Administrator UT Chandigarh Prof. Kaptan Singh Solanki flagged off a 32 member Haryana Golden Jubilee Mountaineering Expedition Team today at Raj Bhavan, Haryana, on Friday. The Expedition Team will climb to Friendship Peak, 5289 Mts in Manali Region of Himachal Pradesh from May 27 to June 14, 2016. The team includes 21 students, one from each district of the State and two each from Sainik School Kunjpura and Sainik School Rewari besides seven trainers.
Congratulating on the Golden Jubilee of Haryana the Governor said that such dare devils have brought laurels to the state. He extend his best wishes to all the participants hoping that they will face the challenges posed by nature with immense grit and determination and come back as confident individuals who will have unearthed the better qualities that were latent in their own unexplored selves.
On the occasion Col YS Parmar, Principal, Sainik School Kunjpura apprised the Governor that the expedition was planned under the aegis of State Govt. for the benefit of the interested dare devils of the home state, under the astute guidance of Joginder Singh Gulia, an ace mountaineer.
