CHANDIGARH, MARCH 22, 2019: N Sriram Balaji and Hans Hach Verdugo of Mexico, seeded fourth, pulled off a big upset as they toppled top seeded pair of Cheng-Peng Hsieh of Taipei and Christopher Rungkat of Indonesia in straight sets 6-4, 6-3 in the doubles semi-final of the $ 54,160 ATP Challenger Tennis Tournament in Zhangjangang (China) today.
Balaji-Hach Verdugo recorded 79 per cent of their first serve in and won 29 out of 45 points on first service and 8 out of 12 points on their second service. They saved four out of six break points. Balaji-Hach Verdugo won four out of eight break points. They also committed two double faults and were without any ace.
Hsieh-Rungkat kept their first service 63 per cent in and won 17 out of 32 points on first service and 10 out of 19 points on second service. They saved four out of eight break points and won two out of six break points.
Hsieh-Rungkat earned $1080 and 29 ATP points.
