CHANDIGARH, MARCH 23, 2019 - Punjab Cricket Association has 15 of its players ready to showcase their talent in the upcoming IPL 12 beginning March 23, 2019. According PCA secretary RP Singla 15 Punjab players have been signed by various IPL franchisee with the home franchise Kings XI roping in Punjab’s Ranji captain Mandeep Singh along with young batting sensation Prabshsimran Singh and left arm medium pacer Arshdeep Singh and left arm spinner Harpreet Brar.
All these players had equipped themselves well in the just concluded National domestic championships. Former India star Yuvraj Singh, left arm medium pacer Barinder Saran and right hand middle order batsman Anmolpreet Singh and the sensational young right arm leg spinner Mayank have been roped by Mumbai Indians. Opening batsman Manan Vohra has switched over to Rajasthan Royals for this season while middle order batsman Gurkirat Mann will be assisting Royal Challengers Bengaluru.
Young all-rounder Abhishek Sharma along with seasoned medium pacer Sandeep Sharma and India T-20 player Siddharth Kaul will be turning out for Sunrisers Hyderabad. Shubman Gill Punjab’s most prolific opening batsman who represented the country in U-19 World Cup and later ODI against New Zealand will be the most potential threat for his adversaries while donning Kolkata Knight Riders colours. India's ace off spinner Harbhajan Singh who has the distinction of maximum Test wickets by an Indian off spinner will be assisting the Chennai Super Kings.
Mr RP Singla was confident that all the Punjab players will equip themselves well for their respective franchisee during IPL 12. He was happy to state that this time the local franchisee Kings XI Punjab will be playing all the seven homes matches at IS Bindra PCA Stadium in Mohali. He expected that all matches in the stadium would be hassle free like the just concluded India-Australia fourth ODI earlier this month. He said that the cricket loving public of tricity and the neighbouring areas will witness some thrilling and absorbing T-20 contests.
