Manchester, July 10, 2019: Four pro-Khalistan protesters were removed from Old Trafford cricket ground here during the first semifinal of the World Cup between India and New Zealand after they raised pro-Khalistan and anti-India slogans.
Some of them were wearing T-shirts and carrying placards with ‘Referendum 2020’ written on them.
Fearing a clash between Indian fans and the protestors, the police intervened and forcibly took the protestors out of the stadium. One of them was even handcuffed .
A good number of Indian fans waving Indian National flag , were seen cheering when the police put handcuffs on the protesters, who did not offer any resistance but kept shouting slogans on their way out. Objecting arrest , one of them pleading that they were excercising their civil rights and police action was wrong.
