Chandigarh, August 20, 2019: Aditi Bhatt of Uttrakhand claimed two titles in the Yonex-Sunrise 28th Krishna Khaitan Memorial All-India Junior Badminton Tournament at the Tau Devi Lal Sports Complex in Sector 3, Panchkula.
Aditi caused a major surprise as she defeated top ranked and favourite Unnati Bisht, also from Uttrakhand, 22-20 13-21 22-20 in a closely contested girls under-19 singles final in one hour and 18 minutes.
Later, Aditi went on to claim the girls’ doubles title too. Partnering with Tanisha Crasto, seeded second, the duo defeated seventh seeded pair of Khushi Gupta and Drithi Yatheesh by 17-21, 21-19, 21-17 in 65 minutes.
Top seed Maisnam Meiraba of Manipur emerged winner in the boys U-19 singles final by disposing of the challenge of second seed Sathish Kumar K of Tamil Nadu by 21-12, 21-11 in 41 minutes final.
In the boys doubles U-19 final fifth seeded pair of Yash Raikawar and Iman Sonowal toppled top seeds Manjit Singh Khawairakpam and Dingku Sing Konthoujam 21-12, 21-15.
