Good News : Jalandhar village returning to normalcy after three COVID-19 patients reported negative

Jalandhar, April 10, 2020: Virk village of the district under Community Health Centre Bara Pind headed towards normalcy after the safe return of three Coronavirus patients to their native village after their reports came negative in two subsequent tests and the residents thanked the district administration and the health department for their timely containment and contact tracing drive.
It is pertinently mentioned to here that Harjinder Singh, Baljinder Kaur and Hardeep Singh of the same family, who came in contact with Baldev Singh of SBS Nagar district, are back in their home.
Phillaur SDM Dr Vaneet Kumar along with Senior Medical Officer of CHC Bara Pind Dr Jyoti Phokela, supervised entire contact tracing, containment and sending contacts for testing in district hospital exercise, said this has been achieved with the joint efforts of entire health team and administration.
They said that due to immediate contact tracing, they were able to contain Coronavirus to family only. They said that all contacts numbering around 29 came negative and now only one member of the same family is undergoing treatment and responding well and likely to return home in the coming few days.
They told that medical team led by a team of doctors Dr Mohit Chander, Dr Mamta Gautam, Dr Harpreet Kaur, RBSK Dr Baljinder, Dr Tanu and Dr Varun conducted a daily survey to ensure no transmission outside the family.
Besides, health supervisor Avtar Singh and Kuldeep Verma carried out an active tracing of contacts and ensured their transportation to the testing facility. They said that Local Anm Shashi Bala with support of Asha workers went each and every house of the village, which has a population of around 5 thousand.
They also appreciated work done by a local youth club, other departments for sanitization work.
