Sakshi Sawhney joins as ADC (D) Bathinda
Bathinda: 20 March, 2018: (Amrit Brar) Sakshi Sawhney IAS of 2014 batch joined as ADC (D) of Bathinda on Thurday. She is one of the upcoming women officers from the new batches. Sakshi Sawhney has captured the attention of the populace by her proactive activities launched in the city, during her tenure as SDM. She has been serving in the city as SDM since November 2016.
As a SDM, Sakshi Sawhney have fast tracked the disposal of court cases and brought down the pendency of cases to a considerable level. Regular monitoring of revenue cases was one of her priority. Sakshi Sawhney is also known for clearing the files without delay, no pendency is seen on her table. “She disposes files on the same day. We never feel irritated even sitting in office during late hours, due to her decent behaviour” says one of her subordinate in the SDM office.
Sakshi Sawhney has launched various projects in city under the social sector. She started “Mission Asha” (Associating for smiles, happiness & aspiration) project, which became very popular in the weaker sections. The first phase of the project was launched in the 171 Anganwadi centres of Bathinda city. Under this project, children below the age of six years were admitted to anganwari centres, those in the age group of 6 to 14 years were admitted to schools and those above the age of 14 years were sent to multi-skill centres to make them learn skills to be able to earn a livelihood for themselves.
Speaking with babushahi.com, Sakshi sawhney said “I will try to deliver the schemes to the best of my ability”. I want to focus on social empowerment along with rural development, she added.
