Waste Management Key To Environmental Protection – Experts
5-Day National Level AICTE-Atal Faculty Training Program Culminates At GZSCCET Bathinda

As a part of 30-years celebrations of its service to the technical education, Giani Zail Singh Campus College of Engineering & Technology (GZSCCET) Bathinda, organized a 5-day prestigious National level faculty development Program titled “Waste Technology”.
This National level special Program was organized under the aegis of All India Council of Technical Education Training and Learning Academy (ATAL). The training program in which 194-registered candidates including eminent educationists; serving professionals and research scholars from 18-states of the country from Kerala to Arunachal Pradesh besides Punjab interacted, culminated here today.
While speaking on the occasion, Dr. Savina Bansal, an eminent educationist of the region and Director GZSCCET & Dean (Academics) MRSPTU Bathinda stressed on the engineering and scientific fraternity to shoulder the responsibility of creating a scientific temperament in the country for minimizing waste by using all possible waste preventive mechanisms and use of technology to take corrective means by managing waste for useful purposes. She also thanked AICTE for granting this program to GZSCCET Bathinda.
Earlier while inaugurating the program MRSPTU, Vice Chancellor, Prof. (Dr.) Mohan Paul Singh Ishar, while touching various aspects of waste and its management, had expressed his concern on unabated rise of waste leading to high level of pollution endangering the flora and fauna around us. MRSPTU, Registrar Dr. Buta Singh Sidhu congratulated the organisers for successful organisation of national level program on waste technology.
During the program, Dr. V. K. Garg, Dean & Dr. Sunil Mittal both experts from Central University of Punjab elaborated on solid waste management by Vermitechnology and hazardous waste management.
Similarly, Dr. S C Jain, former Dean Punjab University Chandigarh narrated the waste minimization strategies. Dr Sanjay Sharma of NITTTR Chandigarh spoke on sewage management and clean technology. Dr. S. K. Sharma of Punjab Engineering College (PEC) Chandigarh highlighted air pollution control measures. Dr. Adarsh Pal Vig of GNDU Amritsar described the industrial waste implications. Dr. Sanjiv Aggarwal & Dr. Manjeet Bansal of local GZSCCET Bathinda highlighted the various facets of uses of waste in highways and waste land management respectively. Dr. Rahul and Dr. Seema of MRSPTU spoke on implications of biomedical and chemical waste during the program.
